University accommodation, student accommodation, and renting a whole place or sharing each have trade-offs. Narrow down areas by how you will get to campus first.
Follow the official Victorian renters guide for inspecting, applying and signing. Each property's requirements are set by the rental provider or agent. A Yeeliving adviser can help you prepare your documents.
Who holds my bond, and how do I check it was lodged?
In Victoria, your bond is held by the government's Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA), and the rental provider must lodge it there. Keep your payment receipt and check the confirmation from the RTBA.
It depends on the property and the rental agreement, so check every cost in the agreement before you sign. If you rent a whole place and need to connect utilities, Yeeliving can arrange the connections for free.
Before you pay anything, confirm the property, the rental provider and the agreement are genuine. Do not transfer money before you have seen the agreement. The official renters guide has warnings about application and listing scams.
Where should I live near the University of Melbourne Parkville campus, and how long is the trip?

The official pages give no single travel time in minutes, so use the Transport Victoria journey planner from your address to your teaching building.
