If walking to class and cooking or joining activities with neighbours appeal, look at Lincoln College's location and common areas together. At 562 Swanston Street near Melbourne and RMIT, it has study, fitness and shared kitchen spaces. Ask whether weekday breakfast is included in the offer you receive.
First, check the eligibility requirements: Scape Lincoln College is student accommodation, and you will need to provide evidence of enrolment, such as a CoE. Room options include private and shared arrangements, and rent, space and flatmate setup vary by room and lease. Do not judge the room by a promotional photo alone.
Shared facilities include study areas, a gym, communal kitchen, lounges and social spaces, outdoor areas and laundry. There is also a 24-hour support team. Scape describes a weekday Scape Eats breakfast service. When you receive a quote, confirm whether breakfast is included in your lease, what is on offer and how the service runs. Ask for the fit-out of your chosen private or shared room. Ask to see the desk, bed, storage and kitchen and confirm whether the bathroom is private.
The University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus is about a five-minute walk away. RMIT City is also an easy walk; the official page lists a route of about six minutes. Monash’s Parkville campus is around a 20-minute tram trip. Check the exact route against your teaching building and current public transport. Trams run along Swanston Street for trips into the CBD or north towards campus.
For groceries, Woolworths is in nearby Lygon Court, along with Health Hub Pharmacy. Mr Dad Asian Supermarket is on Swanston Street. There are plenty of cafés, noodle shops and restaurants around the area, and Panda Hot Pot is on Victoria Street. You do not need a special trip across town for everyday food.
One student who shared a two-year stay on Reddit liked the walk to campus, the chance to meet people and the building activities. They also mentioned that common areas can get noisy when they are busy. Resident comments on Scape’s booking page often mention staff, shared spaces and activities. Experiences depend on the floor, room location and your routine, so ask how close your room is to the common areas.
Lincoln College’s 2026 records do not establish one pricing basis across lease terms. Ask for your room category, dates and occupancy, then confirm whether bills, internet and weekday breakfast are included in that offer.
During an inspection, check storage, natural light and ventilation. If you are sharing, confirm how bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms are arranged. Shared facilities are a good way to meet people but can get lively, so if noise matters to you, ask about the room orientation and quiet hours.
This could suit you if you study at UniMelb, RMIT or a nearby campus and like walking to class, working out in the building and joining activities. If you want a private, very quiet home or do not want to share, check the room setup, flatmate arrangements and rent inclusions before deciding.
